Title: Pot Swap Switch
Post by: sturgeo on January 19, 2016, 12:53:12 PM
I'm looking at methods to switch between 2 different pot values with an LED indicator, simple you may say, however, i have an inherent dislike in 3PDT switches....

I normally use opto bypass and occasionally microcontroller with relay. I could add a 2nd microcontroller & relay but that seems like overkill. Does anyone have any suggestions other than to stop being stubborn and put a 3PDT in there?

Now i've got my head screwed on and properly thought about it i've figured out how I'll do it. Latching DPDT footswitch (same as used for the opto bypass, that'll satisfy my OCD needs being the same model switch on the pedal) and a non-latching relay. It won't be battery powered so doesn't matter about the coil being continuously powered. Space shouldn't be an issue as its going in a 1590BB.

If anyone else has any other ideas or highly likely, better suggestions then feel free to share  :)

Are the 2 pots being used as variable resistors OR as a voltage divider?

They're being used for 2 independent mix levels on a BTDR-3 reverb.
