Title: Cool old MXR stock on ebay
Post by: Smeero on July 01, 2011, 02:44:58 AM
Spoke a bunch with this guy, he has a bunch of stock from MXR that came from what MXR had in house when they were bought out by Dunlop. He has MN3005s, MN3205s, old MXR PCBs, old MXR rotary switches, etc for sale. Had some SAD1024's that I missed out on. Early on someone bought some SAD1024s that were defective (dead) and he started testing chips before posting on ebay (not sure how, probably with a pedal).  I missed the first batch of MN3005s (someone bought 49 of 50) and he wouldn't post more on ebay until they were tested. Made me wait a week. I bought 4 MN3005s (when there was still free shipping). The ones I got are legit and sound excellent in my Aquaboy.

Has anyone tested mn3005s from here?  Are they the real mccoy?

the few I bought were legit. I think he sold out of those though. Still has 3205's if you're looking.

Just picked up a 3205.  I'm a vintage delay newb - what differences are there between that and a 3005?

They have different power requirements.  The both have the same amount of delay time.  The mn3005 has more headroom IMO.

The MXR Envelope Filter M-120 PCB looks very interesting.  :)

Wanted to grab some of those MN3005's from that guy, he lives kinda near me. It looks like they are long gone now.
