Title: A DIY combo of Boost and OD
Post by: CharlyG on July 06, 2011, 12:13:35 AM
I am looking to build a pedal that would give the clean boost of an OD-820 or Klon(the low mid bump is not that big of deal to me so the OD 820 type boost as well. Then on the right side, I would like most of what the Les Lius does. Not really necessary to have 3 voices, as the middle position is where I leave mine. Anyways is this a possibility? I have started collection schems, and now need to go see if I can see what the OD820 looks like.

Anyway, glad I registered today. Geeks like me!

Sorry got carried away with finding a geek picture...

Yes you can definately do boost and overdrive etc in one pedal, I built one recently.  Basically I made both boards and wired them up like I did when I built the Krankosaurus... http://madbeanpedals.com/projects/Krankosaurus/docs/Krankosaurus_ver3.pdf (http://madbeanpedals.com/projects/Krankosaurus/docs/Krankosaurus_ver3.pdf)
Except that I put the boost first and distortion channel second...  Here's the one I did anyway, it works great and saves a bunch of space on the pedalboard too :)http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=2015.0 (http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=2015.0)
