Hi All.
I've got a couple of pedal builds that don't get much above bypass unity with effect at max volume. One is a BYOC Tonebender (my 1st build ever!) and an Aion Canned Yam (NE-1 EQ).
I'm thinking that I might be able to fix this volume issue by installing a small, clean boost circuit between the effect "Out" and the switch. Am I missing anything obvious? I mean, this should give me more volume to work with when the effect is on, right?
Also, if this would work, can anyone give me a recommendation for a very small, clean (and preferably very quiet and tone-neutral) clean boost that I could fit into a 1590B with these circuits? The Tagboard Effects Super Hard On clone is clean and ludicrously easy/small.
+1 to that, or tagboards version of the Crackle Not Ok, which is much the same thing but without crackle. That's my go to boost.
Surprised your Ne-1 is quiet, I built one on vero from paulinthelabs layout without issue. Love that for bass.
EHX LPB-1 is often used for this, super simple circuit. This schematic shows it used to boost a Shin-EI companion fuzz

You don't need a boost to increase the volume of the TB. Find the schematic. There will be a voltage divider on the last transistor's output. You just need to change one maybe two resistors.
The AMZ MOSFET Booster is probably one of the cleanest volume boosts.
