Title: Arion Stereo Analog Delay SAD-3
Post by: JC103 on March 10, 2016, 04:05:13 AM
What is the story on these lil' guys? I found one local, kinda cheap. I think it has a MN3005 in it, is it worth getting?

How cheap? I had one and didn't care for it. It only has short delay times and is kind of noisy. I think it is actually an mn3008 or 3005. From everything I've heard the SAD-1 is much better. If you can get it for $20 or maybe $30 its probably worth pulling the trigger on, they can be had for $40-50 on ebay or reverb.

Just checked it out on youtube... not terribly exciting. I think it will be about $25USD. I'll go play it and check the chip version, maybe it will be worth it.

I'd probably do it for $25 but yeah its not great. If I recall the repeats were fairly quiet, didn't reach unity and it wouldn't go into self oscillation.

Yep, that peddle is pure cheapness. Opened it up to find a MN3208 chip, so no dice.
