Does the pork barrel build have to have the charge pump to run @ 12v or can I just plug a 12v adapter straight in.

I would imagine a 12v adapter would be fine. I used the 3PRR but what the board sees from that is a regulated 12v signal so the adapter would just bypass this extra circuitry and provide 12v straight to the board.
