Title: Anyone cleaned up a Mackie Mixing Board before?
Post by: peAk on April 24, 2016, 12:01:38 AM
I have small Mackie  mixing board that I have had pretty much forever. It's been a great little mixer and has definitely served its purpose through the years.

In the last year or so, I have been having a few issues with it such as scratchy pots, and channels that seem to need a little "shaking" to get to work right. I am also having an issue where my one of my left aux returns isn't working.

Anyway, I just took this thing a part and I am wondering what I should and shouldn't do. I have been vacuuming the dust so far but that's about it. Should I hit the pots and the inputs/outputs with some DeoxIt? Or is that a no-no?

Thoughts?

I'd use Deoxit carefully.

so it was a success, but damn it took a long to take completely apart.  :o  I cleaned up the boards with some pcb cleaner and I reflowed some of the jacks that were giving me issues. I used my micro shop vacuum to get all the dust around the pots out.

I think many years ago I spilt a beer on it.

Thing looks brand new and is 100% functional again!  8)

Awesome! Keep the beers away from it now.
