Title: FYI: 1590a Eddystone equivalent.
Post by: mmlee on May 17, 2016, 04:41:37 PM
Hi,
Just realised there are some Eddystone equivalents to the Hammond 1590A, I thought they only had 1590B (27134PSLA) and 1590BB (29830PSLA). Like the others its basically the same size but with more angled edges, corners and less of a slope on the sides. More importantly to me, they're also cheaper

They were £3.14 each at Farnell up until 20 units. 1590a's are £4.33 each for comparison.

Cheers,
Marcus

I did a reverse etch a while back on an Eddystone enclosur and the results were much different that the typical aluminum enclosures we use.  Not sure if it was an anomaly or if it has to do with the alloy being unique in some way.  Regardless it looked awesome.  I'll be interested to see how yours turns out if you end up doing an etch.

I only use the Eddystone ones now as they're cheaper.  Here's some recent-ish etches.
