Title: Take Pity On Me
Post by: Flock of Bees on June 06, 2016, 03:25:08 AM
Hello everyone,

I've successfully built 2 pedals. One was point to point, the other, well, it was pretty ugly. I am currently working on the the 1590G pedals from this site. I've spent hours trying to trouble shoot what I'm doing wrong. I am currently building the  Mimik pedal. I've checked all my solders on the PCB and everything looks clear. I have finished the off board wiring, but I still am not getting any sound through the pedal. Does anyone have a wiring diagram/ or gut shots that I can compare my work to?  Thank you so much in advance.

Post some pics of your build-up along with any voltages, in the tech help section of the forum.

there are tutorials on external wiring and 1550G projects from the bean himself here:

http://www.madbeanpedals.com/tutorials/index.html

if you don't find the culprit from there, do as matmosphere suggested and please open a tech help thread following the guidelines for getting tech help. good luck

I could use some pity too. I was building the DigDug 2 and had finished the board, about to drop it for the first time to see if it fits when I noticed that all the 8 2K pots were actually 100K's. So not only had I ordered the wrong pots, I soldered them in without checking. D'OH!!!

In-focus, close up pictures will help. Nobody can diagnose your build issue from a paragraph of text. Also list out the other things you've tried (no sound with footswitch on or off?), chip voltages, type of power supply, etc.

If it makes you feel better, I swapped the Step and SubD switches. I was sweating bullets but I managed to desolder them without wrecking the board! It's a PITA but you can do it!

Desoldering turned out to the kind of fun that wasn't, but it was doable. The real PITA is in ordering 8 new 2K plastic shaft pots. Which means I probably have to wait until my next Tayda order. Which means waiting for their next code.

UPDATE: I went through and inspected the wiring for the 3pdt and some connections on the PCB. Everything is working fine now.
