Title: Resistor Tolerance
Post by: K3yPr0gg3r on June 06, 2016, 06:12:09 PM
Hi,

Maybe it's not a big deal, but last night I purchased 250+ 1% tolerance resistors from a reputable vendor. He was out of a few that I needed, so I'm purchasing from Mammoth or Small Bear. They're resistors are 5%. If I'm mixing 1% and 5% will that equate into a non functioning stomp?

Thank you

Smallbear has a ton of 1%. Make sure you're looking under metal film.

Metal film are less noisy in some circumstances than carbon film. It's nothing to do with the tolerance, which for the most part in guitar pedals is pointless to worry about.

Probably mine k3yprogg3r?  My 5% start at +1M.  Unfortunately my current suppliers don't stock 1% MF resistors above 1M, god knows why...Anyway, I have been using CF for some time now. As midwayfair said, its nothing to worry about, at least imo...

I was mistaken...Everybody carries 1%s. Just waiting for all supplies to get in to start building! Thanks again. Now a question about graphics...New Thread...
