See, after years of hand drilling enclosures while kneeling on the floor, I now have the opportunity to use a drill press.
Not just any drill press.
This drill press was a drill press when your grandfather was thinking about using a drill. It's a REAL drillpress and it doesn't care for your organic gluten free transparent purist corksniffing hipster overdrive pedal. It spins slow enough you can just about see the curves in the bit as it turns. Aluminium doesn't stand a chance against it and I don't think it took me 5 minutes to fully drill out a 1550G enclosure that'll have 4 effects plus tap tempo using a step bit.
No pilot holes. Australian made.

I went to visit a friend who lives with his grandfather on a farm, one thats been in his family since his grandfathers grandfather. They built up an extensive tool collection over the years, including a looking similar press. I wish I had known about it, since I could've brought all my undrilled boxes. Oh well, we got to go hiking and shoot a huge variety of his guns, which was more fun anyway.
I use my Granddad's old drill press, which he made himself. Solid, beautifully plain, and reliable as a rock. Kiwi Made.
And yeah, it don't take no sh!t from no enclosure neither.
I love the look of old hardware like that. Looks like old farm equipment.

How's the slop on the quill? Does it even have any?
I bought a new MasterCraft 10" drill press (cuz I couldn't find a vintage one at a reasonable price ::) )
and it had about 0.010" slop on the quill.
Solved it by cutting a slice vertically thru the front of the quill support and putting a clamp across it.

You've got to respect ALL power tools... and hand tools... and especially any tool in the hands of a tool with a pair of hands.
Always makes me a bit nervous when I see people on videos with heavy clothing on, while working on a lathe or drill press.
Way more street cred than my 18V Ryobi. ;D
