Title: loophole switching
Post by: jtn191 on August 04, 2011, 02:56:41 AM
I'm just brain storming here before I order parts...

-I thought about using relay bypass, because using a soft touch switch seems like it'd be easier to match timing...but those boards are out of stock currently. I haven't researched these relays, but it appears that they function as DPDTs...

-It appears you'd only need a DPDT (Play) and SPDT (Record) for the connections needed. Though presumably, somebody would use two of the same type if they wanted them to match (either 3DPT or DPDT)

PS
-If one wanted to have only the red light on when recording and only the green light on when playing, couldn't you do this (using 2 3PDTs and in addition to the wiring in 'Bean's docs):

1 2 3
4 5 6   SW1,  2 = 4k7 resistor to led, 5 = 9v
7 8 9

SW2...well not sure about the green light...

*bump*

I also am curious about this. At least as to whether I can use DPDT footswitches instead of 3pdt. I'm cheap!
