Title: Aquaboy 1uF caps- nonpolar film cap substitution?
Post by: warriorpoet on January 14, 2017, 05:31:36 PM
Looking through the schematic, it seems that most 1uF caps might reasonably be replaced by non-polar film caps (C2, C7, C16, C23). Is the decision to use polar electrolytics in these positions driven by space savings, accuracy to the original circuit, or something else?

Thanks!

If ure in the U.K. I can send u electro's if you don't have any. I've nearly done mine just need a 39n cap and the 1 meg trimmer.

Thanks, but I'm asking for curiosity and information. I do have the parts :)

Film is fine and a good choice if you have the real estate.

Yes and yes. But, if you want to fit it with film there is no reason no to.
