Has anyone put a 500k (or so) pot instead of a saturation switch. You'd get a crackle (okay) of course, but it'd be nice to have more control over the saturation.
This can be done right?
First up, you would use a 500R pot, not a 500K pot.
Second, it'd be an interesting experience. Try subbing the 500 ohm pot for R4 by sending the Zener/Transistor side to lug three of the pot, and tie lugs one and two to ground. That's how I would do it.

yeah sorry 500R. i wan't looking closely at the schematic.
that's what the SHO does so i was just figuring it would give you more control over the saturation. maybe one day i'll try it.
thanks
