Title: Excellent youTube channels for composition
Post by: madbean on February 14, 2017, 02:28:09 PM
As I've getting back into actually writing music these days instead of just playing with pedals, I've been searching for sources of inspiration. Here are a few killer channels:

Rick Beato
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJquYOG5EL82sKTfH9aMA9Q

This guy is the bee's knees. I've learned so much through his videos. Even though I am 25 years out of music school a lot of the music theory is starting to come back to me and he explains things in just the right way for me to quickly grasp his concepts. He's got some great guitar related stuff on there, too.

JunkieXL

This guy did the score for Fury Road. He has a series on how he did some of the composition for the film, going into detail on string arrangements and how he did all the awesome percussion for the score. I really like his style.

ThinkSpace Education

Some excellent film-centric videos.

Spitfire Audio

All kinds of interesting stuff on here.

I believe that's an understatement.  If only I could make my fingers do a portion of some of the videos I watched earlier.  :(

+2. Thanks Brian for the link.

And, I wish I had his hair. Yeah, I'm losing mine so I'm jealous.
