Title: Tone loss with harbinger one
Post by: Mreed707 on July 05, 2017, 11:48:25 AM
Hello, as the subject says experiencing tone loss with this build.

Vintage version with modern switch, 18v.

Everything works but losing highs in the tone, could this be an impedence thing.

I have tried the pedal on its own and still experience tone loss.

I have a below unity volume issue as well but understand a few resistor changes will fix this.

Has anyone else experienced tone loss and could anyone suggest some fixes.

Cheers

Mikey

Do you lose high end even on the modern setting? (Jfet buffer I believe)
You can try using other types of buffers in front of the harbinger. Also if you find a compressor with a light touch (think optical, no pun intended lol) this will help your volume issue. I have a 2015 and even with multiple attempts to get it's volume up to snuff it still doesn't have enough jam. I ran a Fulltone Deja Vibe beside it for a year which easily had double the output volume. IMHO the 2015 needs a revision as it doesn't seem to fire on all cylinders. I do like it's vibrato side though, for things other than univibe tones.
