Title: What's the "ROB" pad for on the Mandroid?
Post by: elenore19 on September 21, 2017, 05:20:32 PM
Building my 2nd Mandroid and I'm wondering what the ROB pad is for? I couldn't find any information on it in the pdf.

Thanks!

It stands for robot. If you look at the shhet for the ic it explains this. If I remember correctly, If you ground robot, vibrato, up or down it switches to that. So you could have four buttons instead of a rotary switch. It's probably there for development purposes.

It connects to the ROB pin of the chip  ;D. I think this only works when you don't use the rotary switch (or set it to to position 8 ). In that situation, the up/down pads scroll through the settings, and the ROB pin can be used to return to robot mode. It's kinda superfluous I would say, as the up/down will also bring you to robot mode. But if you use the up/down pads, and want to have a shortcut to robot mode, it might help. If you use the rotary, position 8 will always be robot mode, so you can ignore the extra pad.
