Title: What is the lowest profile jacks you have used?
Post by: jimmybjj on September 09, 2011, 08:40:43 PM
I want a lower profile jack (if they exist) for 1590a and 1590b builds. I want to be able to have the pcb board above or below the in/out jacks. It is possible with the standard switchcraft and similar jacks but there is no wiggle room, literally :) I don't want to purchase every jack smallbear has, so i am asking all those that have tried something different that the "standards" so please chime in if you have tried something larger (so i know not to get those) or smaller. Thanks.

I might give this one a try but i would prefer solder lugs

I believe lots use the black plastic neutrik jacks with the solder lugs on the end.

I've used the black enclosed ones in a 1590a (the normal switchcraft ones).  But you take up more space with them because you can't put the in and outs close together.  With the open jacks you can put the jacks closer together.  So combined with the switch it takes up about 1/4" less space.  I don't know about the space above or beneath though. This post sounds confusing but I don't know how else to phrase it.
