Title: Are there any Boss SD-1 Projects?
Post by: JC103 on December 22, 2017, 09:05:40 PM
Just picked up a Boss Super Overdrive SD-1 for like $20. I kinda dig it! Are there currently any projects for the SD-1 kicking around? Is Aion's Tube Screamer board a possible candidate? The SD-1 sounds like a warmer version of the Cornish SS-2/Duplex Drive with less bass.

Thanks for the links. I looked at the plethora of overdrive projects offered at Aion. I think the Corona is only for the OD-1, not the SD-1.

Digging in to the Stratus build doc, it looks like you can indeed do the SD-1 on that board. Curious if anyone here has done so?

Wampler has some mods for the SD-1 in his old book. I did them once and had some happy results. That is a surprisingly solid drive pedal straight out of the box! I think the book is out of print, so I could pass on some details via PM if you are interested but can't find it.

Cool, PM'd. I agree, the SD-1 sounds great as is! I'd like to tweak some of the components though, especially the opamp, caps, and perhaps the diodes. True bypass wouldn't hurt either.
