Title: Tr-2 keeley mods
Post by: Jmilla on February 06, 2018, 09:46:05 PM
Does anyone remember what the keeley mods are for the boss tr-2? I recall seeing them way back when here but can't find them when searching. I just got one cheap and wanna tinker.

Still digging to find specific part changes, but the most notable is they add a volume knob (presumably they stick an LPB in there somewhere to counteract the volume drop the pedal is occasionally known for, but again, still digging for specifics). They also say they change a few bits to clear up hiss.

note that newer TR-2's have an internal volume trimmer, so the volume drop issue is mostly with older units

Oh I had no idea the new ones have a trimmer! I'll have to see if I already have it.

I think it's a pretty good tremolo, I remember modding one years ago, and I didn't really find it improved it much.
