Title: Pale Horse Q: The board says A1M pot, the doc says 1MD..Which?
Post by: elenore19 on February 28, 2018, 09:21:42 PM
Which one is it? I assume that it's 1MD, but I really don't know so I figured I'd quickly ask.
Thanks!

Build docs are your friend

"The IMD pot (DRIVE) is a IMA but with 10% tolerance instead of 20%."

You probably won't notice a difference

Yes, it's a logarithmic pot similar to the 1MA, but with very slightly more abrupt taper. It's less "linear" if that makes sense. I went ahead and bought one from VFE, and it helped when fine tuning low gain settings, but I would have been ok with 1MA.

Okay thanks for the help. Figured it probably didn't matter too much either way, but just wanted to be sure on my first VFE build.
