Title: Question directed to PCBs
Post by: IWouldLikeToDIY on March 26, 2018, 06:13:28 PM
Hi everyone!

I have recently made a PCB from etchers paradise. Im really happy with the result BUT

Does it matter if PCB  is MIRROR-INVERTED as it should be ?

Please tell me if it is a big deal... I dont know, in my opinion it should work as well but carefully with components...

Thank you !!!

Hi,

yes, it does matter. Not for all components, but for ICs and Transistors for sure.

Just print the pictures Brian is providing as is, meaning with the text reversed on your print out. As you lay it down with the printed side down on the copper clad/pcb material, you will reverse it so that the result is a normal image. Populate it from the component side (opposite of the solder side with the traces) and you'll be good to go.

hope that clears things up.
Cheers
Felix

but still that dont change my problem ?

The components go on the opposite side of the copper traces.
Once you've etched the board, the font and markings should be readible, ie. not-inverted.

if yours is inverted, you might have a problem depending on the circuit. Which one did you etch?
