Title: Quad multiplex jr. (Demo Added)
Post by: jghfslk on June 17, 2018, 01:34:55 PM
This is a 4 in 1 delay pedal I built. It is 4 1776 multiplex junior circuits with some mods.

Looks massive.
And expensive.
And awesome.  8)

Looks a bit like a sea urchin with all those toggles.

I was thinking the Porcupine Delay, but I think I like your name better.

That's an intense build.

Why did you decide to build 4 in 1?

Here is the inside

You can't see the bottom layer but I didn't think to take pictures as I was stuffing everything in the box. I gave up on attempting to keep things neat pretty early on..

Why did you decide to build 4 in 1?

I wanted to have the option to run them in a number of series, parallel and stereo combinations. I also wired the feedbacks of each delay to either feed back into itself or any of the other delays which can result in pattern delays.

Okay, I know everyone wanted the gut shot but I want to hear the thing. Especially this pattern delay that you speak of.

Also, why the Multplex Jr? Seems like it would have been a little less punishing to do a slightly simpler delay. I

Forgot to ask the most important question: does it work?
So many things to wire up!

Right... I won't be surprised if a few suppliers are out of switches at the mo...
And it probably needs a 747 pilots license?
I second a demo... :o

I can see this can be a rival entry for BOTY 2018. Very awesome work! I demand the demo.

This is nuts. Hopefully you didn't have to troubleshoot too much, looks like it would be a pain.

Looking forward to hear how it sounds.

I really like the sound of the repeats on the multiplex. I thought about using different delay circuits but decided that keeping things consistent might help with ease of use.

I'll get a demo up eventually once I have a video and sound recording setup.

So how do you remember what each switch and knob does?
OR
Do you just hit one note and see where this thing takes you?

Very nice build.

Did you lose a bet?
Why do you hate yourself?
How much does this weigh?
What's the third switch from the left do? No, not that one....THAT one.

I would for real like to hear and know how much it weighs, but -WOW- that's a massive and awesome build - nice work!

That is monstrous. Epic job.

Are there dummy switches? Which two do you have to flip at the same time to launch the nukes?

I would fill the whole thing with goop so nobody could ever figure out what this is.

Epic build! Totally crazy town. I love it. Just needs a few labels on all those controls :)

OK.... Either you have to much time on your hands or to much coffee intake. (or other substances) I would lovee a demo as well.
I got an ADHD attack looking at it, to much detail! I must not look too long or I will be mesmerized sorta like looking at a car accident.. Great job!

Very cool indeed but lets not all make 1 at once otherwise Tayda will run out of knobs and toggles!
