Here's an interesting project. If you've ever heard of "prepared piano" you will understand this. I designed the electronics & PCB for this project based on my opamp buffer circuit. (16 channels with two mixed outputs and individual outputs to drive an A/D Converter as a trigger).
The musician playing it is Scott. He approached me in late August looking for some help with the electronics. We used dorkbotpdx's prototype service to get the PCBs. I essentially designed an 8 channel buffer, in which he used 2 boards for his 16 strings.
I had seen pictures of the instrument as it was being built, but I did not know it was to be a "prepared" piece until I got this link from Scott.

Boy that's an interesting instrument. I can see if it were refined and tuned a little better it could be very musical. His test was too atonal for me, but boy is it interesting!
