Title: AMZ Mini Boost
Post by: pickdropper on August 22, 2018, 05:06:42 PM
This isn't a very complicated build, but it's been a while since I've posted anything.  It came out fairly clean because there are so few parts.

A buddy of mine asked me to build him an AMZ Mini Boost.  It's actually a pretty cool circuit (I had never built one before).

The laser etching got a bit messed up, so I'm going to have to cut another plate.  It works for now, however.

Looks sweet, love the hidden LED.

Do you design a single custom PCB for everything you build?

Very very nice! Yes it came out very clean, he says...  8) 8)
Nice job on LED placement and the sign language graphics.

Occasionally I build Brian's fantastic boards, but I usually just do a layout these days.  It does reduce my through-put, however.

Very nice!! You are the only builder I know that can make a 1590a look bigger on the inside.

Well I was meaning it tongue-in-cheek... of course it's not real sign language, I was playing on how Dave communicated the functions of pedal with the signage/graphics.

Ok, I'm starting to see it now.  I have a new appreciation for those graphics.

Damn, that's about as clean as it gets.  Really nice job.

Pickdropper stating that he has never before built an AMZ mini booster...now that is a surprise! It was sort of my 'rite of passage' circuit years ago and I imagine it was for many others. There's a lot of tiny tweaks that can really influence how this thing works/sounds that are really worthwhile.

Anyway, killer looking pedal as always!

Yeah, it's kind of weird that I never built it before (I am sure there are plenty of other circuits like that I haven't done).  If my friend hadn't requested it, I still may not have.
