Title: Lower Voltage
Post by: guigos on September 17, 2018, 07:27:12 PM
Hello Guys!!

I just build a Current Lover and when i mesure the votages at IC1, i get 2.2V on pin 3 (its supposed to be 4.18) and when i mesure right before R4 (1M) resistor, i get 4.51, just after it 2.2V. All the other voltages seem right.

Thank you!!

well, IC1 Pin 3 and 10 are both connected to Vb (approximately half you input voltage, so around 4.5 V), so if all pins (including pin 10) are ok, then so should pin 3...

Please check again, maybe you had a mistake while measuring. More importantly, thus the effect work? How does it sound? Do you have a problem or are you just checking voltages to match them to the build doc?

R4 has nothing to do with pin 3 by the way, it is connected to pin 12.

the pedal is working... but the sound doesnt feels right... feels saturated

the R4 connects to the pin 3, i attatched the measurements

Sorry! My bad. For some reason I was looking at the Lowrider...

Ok, so make sure all your parts values in that area are correct: R1-R4, C1. I suspect it could be a bad/leaky cap for C1. If C1 is not blocking DC voltage properly, you have a voltage divider with R2, which should give you approximately half of Vb, which seems about what you have...

Where did you source the caps? maybe try to replace it, if you have another one.
