Here's a mini TB Mk.III I made over the weekend. Pretty straightforward, except for the external bias. It uses a charge pump so a standard 9V center negative supply can be used.

Great work as always. I always know it's gonna be super clean under the hood, but I'm always left with my jaw on my desk. lol
That's a beautiful build.
How did you get the lettering so clean on the pitted surface?
Damn that's slick.

It's laser etched, but there is basically zero contrast with this color, so I backfill the lettering under a microscope with a syringe and a 30 ga dispensing tip.

That's hardcore. The finished product is very nice.
If that is pretty straightforward I wish all my builds were at least a little bit straightforward ;).
Very impressive!
Far out as usual.... :o

That's how I eat my cereal in the morning as well...

I can't touch this in pedals, your work is great! I do acrylic abstract paintings using syringes and chopsticks/toothpicks.

That's very cool! Do you have pictures of your paintings?
I love looking at this, your pedals are ridiculously cool.
Do you gain stage the transistors for tone benders? Is there any kind of secret that you know of to make one sound superior to another?
Just stunning!
Stunning as always.
Dave, you're the best as far as I'm concerned. Nice work!
(What would you have done if you had to use a yellow or gray film cap? ;D )
Stunning work. The outside is great, but that PCB has me drooling a little. Great layout!

Sadly, yellow caps do happen all the time. Epcos has a limited number of values in the blue caps.
I tend not to use the gray Tayda caps but occasionally a gray Kemet will show up.

Yeah, I do gain stage them. Q1/Q2 are usually pretty close, but I tend to set it up so Q2 has an hfe that's 10 higher or so. It jumps a bit to Q3 usually, but it varies.
Basically, I screen them into bins and then I listen on a board with sockets. If they sound good, then I solder them into the board I'm building.

Thank you for clarifying, I really appreciate it.
