Hi,

hoping someone can help explain why I keep blowing the MAX1044 in my Boneyard.

I've blown 2 so far!!!

That would usually indicate that either something is wrong with the voltage being fed into the board, or that you have a solder bridge or other type of mistake on the board itself.
