Title: High quality headphone amp for iPod/mp3 players?
Post by: keysandguitars on December 02, 2011, 07:35:49 PM
I'm looking through the interwebs to try and find a DIY headphone amp. I've got some Ultrasone cans and want to see if I can get more out of them through my iPod while I'm at work or on the go. Has anyone built a good DIY amp that would be well suited for this application?

TIA, Brandon

Do a search for the PIMETA headphone amp. Looks like there's been a few iterations.

My buddy at samuelaudio.com has built a few in the past and he might be willing to shed some light if you drop him an email.

Nice one Jacob!  Thats a great board design I may use myself... thanks :)

Also seeing as I had spent some time reading up myself a while ago... Keys, check out the 'CMoy' Headphone amp project... a popular DIY design with lots of variants around.  Original article  here (http://gilmore2.chem.northwestern.edu/projects/showfile.php?file=cmoy2_prj.htm)
