Title: Florist J1/J2 Pads
Post by: McPilot on November 19, 2020, 11:54:26 PM
Hello all,

Getting ready to start soldering up a Florist PCB.  Could someone please explain the purpose of the J1 and J2 pads on the PCB?  It looks like they are used to wire up the input/output jacks.  Do I have to wire the jacks that way, or could I wire them up to the switch like I have done on other projects?

Thanks!

Those are basically a wire (trace) from the top of the PCB to the corresponding pad on the bottom of the PCB.  They're nice if you want the top mount configuration because you don't have to run wire all the way from the jack to your switch. If you are using side mount jack, you don't need this.
