And there's even a 74HC4049!
I've always used the 4049UBE version but have read elsewhere that the buffered (BE) version actually makes better quality clock pulses than the unbuffered (UBE) version. Does anyone here have a definitive answer to this?
To BE or not UBE?
That is the question...
I don't know the answer but I did like the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer. The slings and arrows of outrageous BBD prices...
Lol!
Ok, I gotta get serious now:
Calling all Scruffie, calling all Scruffie...
I'd have to check, but my guess would be that BE makes better clock pulses.
However, you can't use any spare BE for something like a ROG 22/7, or any overdrive that abuses a 4049UBE as a faux opamp.
Correct. Only the UBE is good for analog through it.
But for BBD clock drivers it seems more like a digital application. I'm going to get some and try them out.
BBDs are weird... They're considered analog but they kind of work like digital. Go figure...
