Title: Fireaxe
Post by: Thewintersoldier on November 04, 2021, 11:48:13 AM
This was a giveaway from Brian earlier this year and it's a fantastic sounding pedal. It almost gives my blackface a chimey vox type clean sound, and using it in overdrive mode gives a nice pushed amp sound. the baxandall eq makes the pedal very versatile.
I went with a uv print on this one because I wanted to use a black enclosure. wanting to use stormbreaker on this (fireaxe being the name), @harryklippton suggested beta ray bill and it was a brilliant idea. really like how this one turned out.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20211104/a8494428eaad38906b24f45500b8b28.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20211104/43f2c742f6c65b500a011cf96d883c3.jpg)

Nice build, great graphic too!

Would you classify this effect to be a good clean booster too, and is it a bit transparent? I bet putting a voltage doubler on it to give it ~18ish volts would be interesting :D

Thanks, it's a preamp so it's I wouldn't say it's transparent but the EQ is flexible enough to get it neutral sounding. I wouldn't bother using it at 18 volts because there isn't much gain on tap, even in clipping mode it's pretty low gain.

That looks great! Dig the graphics.

It's nice to have the white on black option now with the UV prints.

I love being able to do a black enclosure, I don't do it often but it's totally worth it!
