Title: question about different generic thinline (non-switched) DC jacks
Post by: snow123 on May 30, 2022, 09:13:47 PM
what's the difference between the small bear generics (https://smallbear-electronics.mybigcommerce.com/dc-power-jack-all-plastic-unswitched-2-1-mm/) and the Lovemyswitches (https://lovemyswitches.com/thinline-2-1mm-dc-power-jack/) and tayda (https://www.taydaelectronics.com/dc-power-jack-2-1mm-round-type-panel-mount-1.html) jacks? like are the small bear ones higher quality or something?

They're all generics.  Tayda's are made by "Wealth Metal," while LMS and SB don't say who makes theirs.  The note on the Small Bear one is accurate, they fit very tight compared to the others.  Love My Switches also carries Lumberg brand in this size, which are rated for 2A @ 24VDC, those are the ones I use for 18V DC inputs.  The generic ones aren't rated for current or voltage that I can find.
