Title: Total recall problem with delay tails not fading out quit enough.
Post by: VerreyckenGerd on August 05, 2022, 08:47:04 AM
[SOLVED]
Hi all I have an issue with my new total recall build.

It sounds like one of the companders is acting like a noise-gate and turning off the dalay tails at about half of the volume range of the BBD chip. Everything else of the pedals sounds normal to my ears. When setting the feedback high enough it loops forever and a couple of repeats are also possible but a nice setting in between with nice fade out is not possible.

Does anyone know how to adjust the threshold of noise-gate part of the compandor cirquit?

Thanks in advance,

Gerd

Be sure your gains are set correctly first, but besides that, the reissue DMM the Total Recall is based on does indeed have gating built in via R31 that wasn't present in the original, so just remove that.

Scruffie,

I did what you suggested and bam! Problem solved, it sounds as lovely as my collection of big box original's.

Kind Regards,

Gerd.
