Title: Dirtbag + tantalums = ?
Post by: 9Lives on December 27, 2011, 04:04:38 PM
Hey everyone, back on the road truckdrivin' in the rain through south GA after the holidays. Started a new board.. Being the dirtbag deluxe. My wifre got me that tantalum cap kit for xmas and I figured I'd put them to a good use.. This being my most challenging build. Anyway, anyone a fan of these or am I just wasting them? It's got plenty of +- caps on it.

I like them, but only ever tried them on OD/Fuzz/Boosters, IMO the power section is the most important section in the pedal, cause it regulates voltage, I like tantalums better than electros, they are smaller and easier to work with, sound-wise they make a pedal "grainier", kinda like a hi-mid bite added.

cool. So far I've used like 20ish tants on this one LOL. Only large values I don't have. I just feel like I'm using somthing elite when I use them. Havnt really A/B with them. I just figured an analog  delay would put them to good use.
