Title: Tight Metal Now with Demo
Post by: jimilee on March 27, 2023, 12:47:46 AM
This is my take on Aion's tight metal. Runs at 9v and 18v. The idea for the power switch came from the Motley Crue drive. I think it's a great switch to use in this situation. I have the penmanship of a toddler. This pedal Rawks \m/ \m/.

 Niiiice.
I e been wanting to build one for so long.
I'm hoping it nails the drive tone of the PeaXey MAX100/Dirty Dog pedals.
James Brown worked on both while there and the controls are so very similar.
I have a (2) MAX 100s and Ive toyed with reboxing the drive section as it's o n its own board but I haven't gotten around to making sure *all* of the needed circuitry is there and there are no schematics anywhere to be found.
Anyway,

It's a gain monster. I built a version of mine of this.
But... D1, D3... where's the diodes?

I think there may be an issue with some Tayda 4558. Those are just buffers, I had another buffer issue in another board as well. I'm ordering different ICs to see if this fixes the issue.

Awesome build, really dig the handwritten labels - very Metallica Live Sh*t! Great to see a PCB for this beast out there.

The gate is worth the price of entry alone, love that thing.
