Title: this really bugs me.
Post by: jwin615 on June 27, 2023, 10:40:56 PM
Ppcb pharmacist build.
With the symmetry of this build, and it's size, that one 47n guy in the middle just gets to me.
It's a gift for my niece, so the visual aspect has a bit more sway than a typical build.
Went and looked at tayda, the beige/white ones are 5% tolerance so gues that's why I order them instead.

Meh, I get it, but it's a terrific looking build so take it as a win...

Thanks. Took a little extra time with it. Checked every part(I don't want to debug this).
Now I just need to learn inkscape and tayda printing before Thanksgiving(and not screw it up).

I'm much more concerned that the caps aren't straight, not their color.

Mount it on the underside of the board.  ;-)

Encase it in an aluminum box to hide your shame!

All the accuracy that the blue tack allowed me that night. At least all the labels are in the same orientation.  In all seriousness, I've lifted a couple of the tiny ppcb pads before while repositioning components so I'm rather hesitant to try at times. I've even lifted a ppcb pad with my desoldering gun once. I like big pads and I cannot lie.

I think she is going to be so in love with the sound she won't even notice the colors of the capacitors.

Yeah.  Except the Bass and Treble controls on this are trimpots(plus max boost trimmer).  Though, I'm tempted to put some holes in the bottom for them, for ease, not in pale capacitor shame.
