Title: Glasshole charge pump whine
Post by: Crschmidt1111 on August 12, 2023, 09:31:38 PM
Greetings! I finished up a glasshole recently and when its in my signal chain I have a high pitched whine...even if the pedal is off. I have tried both LT1054 and TC1044. There is a difference in volume but its still there. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix?

I was wondering if I could just power the pedal with 18v...my power supply has an 18v out on it. Any and all suggestions and help are welcome. Thanks in advance

IIRC, the charge pump is to get -9 volts, NOT to make 18 volts. The 1044, did you use the "S" spec? If you didn't, there will be  a whine present. Pins 1 & 8 also need to be jumpered with the 1044, but NOT the 1054.
When working properly, you shouldn't get a charge pump whine with the Glass Hole, but you may get a LFO "tick tick tick" sound. There are ways to get around that also. Look in the troubleshooting section.

I used the 1054 on my build no whine
