Title: Glasshole 2024 C3 Value - Double Check
Post by: Jobu on October 21, 2024, 05:40:45 AM
Hi there, just wanted to double check that the correct value for C3 in the Glasshole is 100nF?

The pcb footprint is for an MLCC cap as opposed to a box film footprint, while the other 100nF caps (C20, C24) are box film footprints. I do use 100nF MLCC's for power filtering, but can't think of a reason to use them specifically in an opamp feedback loop. Also 100nF *seems* like a high value for it's spot in the schematic too. But what do I know! Just wanted to check it's not supposed be 100pF, for example.

Thanks!

C3 is indeed 100nF. I just forgot to change the library part. It is a strange arrangement but it's correct.

There's no gain applied at IC1 since there is no voltage divider off the inverted pin. So, my best guess is that this application is for low frequency attenuation. It definitely is weird.

Thank you Mr. Madbean! I stared at the circuit some more and can't come up with anything else either. Either way, if it's the right part it works for me. Cheers!
