Title: Where to source short electros
Post by: saxoftenest on January 30, 2012, 08:05:57 PM
Any suggestions? I'm looking for short/stubby electros to stuff in some 1590A projects. My first instinct is Mouser, so if you have a part # please share!

Mouser is where I get mine. There is a size field in their parts finder. Here are the 10uf and 100uf I use to keep my road rage boards tiny, should be a good starting point.

Using that info, you can search for that whole series of Nichicon caps at Mouser with the search term "Nichicon USW" for the SW series. You can specify a series from Nichicon's list (http://nichicon-us.com/english/products/alm_mini/pict_f.htm) to see if Mouser carries the values you need. For example, SF caps can be searched with "Nichicon USF" and so on. That doesn't work for all parts--it seems to depend on how the manufacturer's part name is formed.
