Title: Colorsound OD gain pot bunched-up-ness
Post by: maysink on September 15, 2010, 08:41:38 PM
I'm having the gain pot issue brian mentions in the build docs for this one. I used a 5KB pot but I'm still getting all the gain in the last ~5% of the pot.

Would an antilog taper'd pot be a better solution?

Perhaps. If you understand tapers at all, the reverse Log pot will have a more sudden effect at the start, and a more gradual effect at the end. A Log pot is backwards, with all it's gradualness bunched up at the beginning, and the suddenness at the end. So yes, a RevLog (C) pot may help.

If you have one handy, try a 10K pot (any taper) and tell me what you hear.
