Title: Double Flush Won't Trem
Post by: tenwatt on May 04, 2012, 11:57:23 PM
Okay, I had the pots swapped for the "Pulse" and "Intensity" and I wasn't getting any trem but now that I have them in the right spot I'm STILL not getting any trem.  I'm using the VTL5C1.  My LED was lit solid before but now it won't light at all.  The "Volume" pot is the only one that seems to be working correctly.  The other pots only make the volume drop when turned up.  The LED has randomly came on when I accidentally crossed some connections with my finger but then it goes back off and never flashes.

Anyone have any ideas?  I've check all my solders and can't find any bridges.  Does the VTL5C1 have to be reset some how?

Voltages would help us a lot.

+9v - 9.42

IC1
1 - 4.48v
2 - 4.48v
3 - 3.90v (voltage drops as I hold the DMM on it)
4 - 0
5 - 8.71v
6 - 4.49v
7 - 4.47v
8 - 3.90v (voltage drops as I hold the DMM on it)

IC2
1 - 183.3mV
2 - 4.32v
3 - 4.32v
4 - 0
5 - Freaks Out in Negative Voltage
6 - 8.71v
7 - 4.32v
8 - 183.3mV

IC3
1 - 4.58v
2 - 4.33v
3 - 4.30v
4 - 0
5 - 8.71v
6 - 4.33v
7 - 6.66v
8 - 4.31v

Let me know if any other readings would be helpful.

IC 1 looks fine.

IC2 and 3 look strange to me. Particularly, IC2 pin 7 and IC 3 pin 3 should be the same, but they aren't. The wierd voltages on IC2 are also not really important because those 3 pins aren't actually connected to anything.

So yeah. Start looking for wrong values in the resistors in there, and for solder bridges which are more likely because you've done some reworking of the board already.
