Title: Question about Cave Dweller
Post by: kinski on May 09, 2012, 09:52:13 PM
To those who have built one of these guys, how quiet is it?

I'm asking specifically about that while noise surrounding the delayed signal found on many PT2399 delays.

Thanks!

Well, I have built both the Echobase and Cave Dweller delays and the CD is not really any more "noisy" than the the EB. The repeats are a bit more distorted maybe if spliting hairs.

It is a fun project and def. worth it if you are looking for a tiny-but-mighty analog delay. The echo and dwell controls interact in a cool way. It sounds good through my little SS vox and my big-tube rig.

mine is dead quiet. I'd recommend socketing the chip as some are noisier than others.
