Title: Cave Dweller: Detune/Fail Switch (from Zero Point)?
Post by: kinski on May 17, 2012, 02:50:03 PM
I've got a super small SPST Momentary Switch that needs a home. I thought it would be nice to try and cram it somewhere in the 1590a enclosure with the Cave  Dweller.

I'd really love to add the detune/fail switch that Madbean is working on with the Zero Point. Is this at all possible? I love the glitchy modulation!

If not, anybody know of any other cool mods I could do with the Cave Dweller and an SPST Momentary Switch?

The Fail switch on the demo of the Zero Point is basically the same thing as the Loophole. Add a 22R between regulator output and ground with the switch toggling the connection to ground. You'll get about 15 seconds of detune effect before it stops working...then just let go of your momentary switch for an instant reset.

Hmmm would this work with other pt2399 delays like the sea urchin?

Great! Thanks Bean! I'll try this with my build next week!

Resurrecting this topic — does any one know if this "fail switch" mod would work for the more recent (2015) CaveDweller as well?http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/_folders/1590A/pdf/Cave%20Dweller2015.pdf

I have one of those boards laying around and am thinking of trying some mods to it...
