Title: Every Girls favorite.... the "Tri-Vibe"
Post by: Bluestrat on May 22, 2012, 12:21:08 PM
Ok, I admit it. I'm a sucker for Tremolo, Vibe and Rotary effects.

This is the ROG "Tri-Vibe" built using a board etched and populated by Stephen on the BYOC forum.
Felt funny using a board populated by another builder but the price was right and I wanted to try it.

Sooooooo, here it is. Art Deco inspired design, acid etched top design, vintage knobs and a pulsating led.

How's it sound? Sometimes I love it, sometimes I don't. It can be noisy with some pedals. Like many of these effects it has a volume drop ( much better after I replaced a chip that was not the recommended one).
I use a transparent buffer as a boost. All in all, some very cool sounds when you get it dialed in.

Looking forward to building the "QuadroVibe" when the boards are available from MB.

That's fantastic, right down to the green LED. :)

I wonder if anything else can be done with the volume drop? This is currently #3 on my build list, I'd like to hear any little fixes you made.

Your work makes my own pedals hide in a dark corner.  It's intimidating!

;D

Increase the resistor on the output opamp should take care of it.

Hell, I'd put that on my pedal board just to class up my rig some.

My homebuilt pedals are on strike and refuse to function until I make them look as good as this......... Which is never gonna happen! (There is no crying smiley, otherwise I would have used it)

This looks so good man, kudos!!!!! Beautifull!!!!

You know, with an enclosure that well done, I am certain it doesn't matter which circuit you put it there, it will sound awesome.  Way to go.

I'm impressed. Again. You could put your box designs in a stand together with jewelry and rolex'. Very very pro!

Cheers
