Title: EGODRIVER TANTALUM 1 UF OR 10 UF
Post by: hnkyrocks on October 13, 2010, 05:05:35 AM
I just compare several schemes OCD ... there are 2 versions of tantalum capacitors are used ... is that using 1 uf, and in EGODRIVER use 10 uf. Which is better used to clone this OCD? 1uf or 10 uf?

thanks for your help...

Do you mean for C7? In that case, either will work the same. There should be no tonal difference in using 1uF or 10uF in that position. The values are sufficiently high enough to let the full range of frequencies through.

I like 1u tantalum better personally.

Teach me something guys.  Is there some sort of an advantage to using tantalum?  I just put an electro there.

Some people prefer the sound of tantalum caps over electrolytic....that's it, really. They also come in much smaller packages, which is a plus. On the downside, they appear to have a higher failure rate than electrolytic caps.
