Title: Tayda Jacks, anyone tried them?
Post by: sgmezei on June 29, 2012, 10:40:46 PM
Hi there, I know there are a few tayda threads about quality and components but I wasn't able to find one about their 1/4" jacks.

Who has tried them? Opinions?

I've been using them.  They're fine, not as tight or robust feeling as neutrik etc, but haven't had any problems with them

Got 2 to put in a build I'm giving to a friend earlier this week. They were partly plastic but look okay. I'll get a better look tomorrow and let you know...

I've used several sets. They seem to be uniformly "shorter" than the jacks I'm used to, so the cables look like they're loose.

The pedal parts plus $.50 jacks are a little better fit, so I've started picking those up when I get finished enclosures.

Used them in my Lowrider.

They don't feel anywhere near as crisp as the Switchcraft ones -- you get the feeling with the SC jacks you could swing the pedal around from the cord after you plug the patch cable in, and the Tayda ones feel loose and sloppy in comparison.

I'd be happy to use them, but I'd strongly prefer Switchcraft.
