Title: A few mo' builds: Rat/Slow Loris and non-MB two in one
Post by: jtn191 on July 01, 2012, 10:05:22 PM
I built this Rat a while back--built w/ almost all tantalum caps to meet Whiteface specs. It's pretty nice, definitely Ratty  :o . I'm glad I included the Ruetz pot and clipping switch for more versatility and less harshness

Second up is one that I'm actually finishing--just gotta wire the switch. It's a Hotcake into a Klon. Made it for my friend using a byoc member's fabbed board. The pcb was definitely designed for Klon-only builds, but what the hey? Ya do watcha can.

Wow cool idea for a two in one overdrive!  8) What does the Ruetz pot do in the Rat??

The description I first heard from Ruetz is that it "makes it smoother". But in Brian's doc he says it shifts the clipping frequency lower, so that there is less high, fizzy clipping. Kinda a tone-clipping, smooth knob.

Ah... sounds like a great idea... those rats can be scratchy at times, depending on your amp.
Nice builds man
