I use two matched, old-stock SINO 3AX31C germanium transistors. I decided to use a 1590BB enclosure for more space. It was SOO much easier than trying to do it with board mounted pots.
It sounds good. In fact I tried some random NTE 126 transistors and it sounded great with those too. I don't think it takes much mojo to get this circuit to do it's thing.
Yep, you really don't need any fancy transistors in there...in fact really good trannies should go in a regular Fuzz Face for the real mojo.
Nice jorb.
Cool, nice info on the transistors. I was worried about picking the perfect ones as I'm working on an order for parts right now.

here's another one. this one is RIDICULOUS. the gain is huge. I probably should have used smaller hfe transistors. I might swap the volume pot for 5ka just to get a little more control. it really jumps from 0-60. I think 2 is unity.
I ran out of little 1900h knobs but I ordered some grey ones from small bear today so when they come I will switch it out.
