This is my first real PNP fuzz built, no polarity inverter, no led, no DC jack, just balls!
Got this fantastic board from Marauder, thanks man, received it this morning...........i just could'nt box it! 8)
The pot will be changed for 24mm Bourns that i'm still waiting after....
Hope some of you will enjoy, because i do, i do alot! :)

Whoa. Those are some crusty trannys! Dude, your stuff lately looks like it came out of a salvage operation.
Haha, you nailed it Jon...:)
Not that i'm salvaging anything but i trying real hard to get some decent crusty looking enclosure...
This one is a mix of overbaked paint, propane torch and paint thinner..... ;D
The footswitch comes from a heavily used late 70's Morley Power Wah Booster..Volume..lol, that i modded for a customer and kept the FS...for this kind of built :)
That thing looks like you found it in a dumpster! It's beautiful.
Man, your enclosures are killing lately.
"trying real hard to get some decent crusty looking enclosure..."
You can stop trying mate, cause you've nailed it with this one, Dirty, Fuzzy, old school Mojo, Love it!!!!!!!
Take it easy, Matt.
What's a good source for that awesome cloth wire covering?
That stuff really gets me goin'.

WIN! ;D
Thanks for the comments guys, really appreciated seeing what pops out of this board.
I got to say that i got the board populated from Andrew, but it still would have looked like that if i had too populate it this morning.
Can someone tell me why there's a diode accross the trannie?
For the enclosures that i did lately, i'm just working on a new style of thing..., after doing splatters, relic'd and grinded...., need to do different stuff, testing out the water...., it's R&D! Hahaha!

It reduces the effect of temperature changes on the transistor. It's more common in Rangemasters than fuzzes to my knowledge.
I love the cloth wire... looks neato man... great mojo factor 8)
Great stuff dude.
I like the look of the recent enclosures.
That looks like one big ass f'switch :o
Legit Mojo indeed!
Thats really awesome. I love the cloth wire and the cool enclosure.
Really great.

I was thinking Davey Jones's locker

You can source some from www.tubesandmore.com, i bought 7x 50feet spool from a BYOC forum mate....
I first bought it for some amp modding and future building, but it's just a cool addition in pedals... :)

Thanks Steve, yeah, they're big ass stompers, got another one like that.....going to keep it for another fuzz classic (read BrassMaster).
And thanks again for the comments guys :)
Now i know what paint schemes to use for my Fuzzys, splatter paint for the Si and Davey Jones for the Ge! ;D
Very nice work. But those knobs are too shiney to be found in a salvage yard ;)

Thanks Josh, i totally agree on the knobs, anyone aware of a trick to relic those? other than letting Pepsi dry on them? Hahaha
I've had good luck throwing things in my pockets with keys/change. Unless you wear "skinny jeans" 8) Then you'll have to opt for a bag of bolts or other goodies.
Josh
Skinny jeans...LOL!
I have a jar with all my aluminium drilling chips, that i keep to mold my own enclosure one day....
I'll put them in that.... :)
Looks awesome, Rej!
I used the Fuzz Face resistor calculator here, to set all the ones I made with those transistors, and despite different gains, they all sound the same and decay nicely.
That one needed a 35K R1, but the one in it is a 33K that measures 34K, close enough.
I've had much better results with this method, than using a trimmer on Q2.

"anyone aware of a trick to relic those"
Hey Rej, i don't know if it would work with aluminium, but i have used a cup of tea (no milk or sugar :)) to age guitar knobs, works great, who knows, might work on aluminium.
Take it easy, Matt.

That calculator is awesome! No approximation at all....love that!
It's going to be usefull, Going to build couple of these....it generated a certain enthusiasm in the Germanium Fuzz crowd... 8)
